Introduction

Bruxism is a condition characterized by the unconscious grinding or clenching of teeth, often occurring during sleep. It can lead to a range of issues such as tooth wear, jaw pain, headaches, and even damage to the temporomandibular joint. One effective treatment for bruxism is the use of botulinum toxin injections, commonly known as Botox. When injected into the muscles responsible for jaw clenching, botulinum toxin helps relax the muscles and reduce their activity, alleviating the symptoms associated with bruxism. The procedure is minimally invasive and typically well-tolerated by patients. By temporarily weakening the muscles, Botulinum toxin can effectively reduce teeth grinding and clenching, thereby alleviating associated pain, preventing tooth damage, and promoting relaxation of the jaw.
