Laser Dark Spot & Melasma Reduction
Clear + Brilliant® Laser
Treatment Description
Melasma is a common skin condition characterised by the development of brown or grayish-brown patches on the face, particularly on the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, and chin. The exact cause of melasma is not fully understood, but it is believed to be influenced by factors such as hormonal fluctuations, sun exposure, and genetic predisposition. Hormonal changes, particularly increased levels of estrogen and progesterone, can stimulate the production of melanin in certain areas of the skin. This overproduction of melanin leads to the formation of dark patches, which can be further exacerbated by exposure to sunlight. Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can trigger melanocyte activity, resulting in the worsening of melasma and the persistence of pigmentation. Hyperpigmentation, on the other hand, is a broader term that encompasses various forms of darkening or discoloration of the skin, including melasma. It can be caused by a range of factors such as sun damage, inflammation, acne, or skin injuries. Hyperpigmentation occurs when the skin produces excess melanin, leading to dark spots or patches that can affect any part of the body. Clear + Brilliant® Laser offers a promising solution for reducing melasma and hyperpigmentation, improving the appearance of skin affected by these conditions. The treatment utilises advanced fractional photothermolysis technology to specifically target and address the underlying causes of melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation. It delivers precise wavelengths of light energy to the affected areas of the skin. The energy is selectively absorbed by the excess melanin, effectively breaking down the pigmentation without causing harm to the surrounding tissues. By targeting the melanin responsible for discolouration, Clear + Brilliant® Laser helps to lighten and reduce the appearance of dark patches. The controlled energy from Clear + Brilliant® Laser stimulates collagen production and triggers the skin's natural renewal process. This leads to the growth of new, healthier skin cells, helping to replace the hyperpigmented areas with fresh, evenly toned skin. PS: The number of treatments depends on the client's skin condition. In recent studies, clients reported visible improvements after 4-6 treatments. Aftercare: avoid scrubbing and rubbing, use SPF 50 daily.
